The"bio-sauna" has lower temperatures than in the classical (Finnish) sauna, usually about 50-60° C with a humidity of approx. 50%. The bio-sauna is said to be gentler on the circulatory system. The time spent in the sauna, about 10-25 minutes, is generally longer than in a normal sauna.
A very high temperature is produced inside the sauna by pouring water over heated stones. Generally, the temperature is around 85-90° and the humidity about 10%.
After the heat there is a cooling-off phase in the cold-water pool or under the ‘ice-rain’ shower. Then, a resting phase is followed by another round in the sauna.
